All Things Florida

From October to May, we are located in Webster, Florida. Our main focus is to produce queens and expand our bee population. We raise over 10,000 queens every Spring, and ship them across the U.S. to various beekeepers. We also sell queen cells and nucleus hives (nucs), which we sell here in Florida. Every year in May, we send one truck load of nucs to customers in Wisconsin. While producing queens and expanding our colonies, we will also occasionally make and extract Florida honey. We sell this on our farm in quart, pint, and half pint jars.

FLORIDA BLOOMS

ORANGE BLOSSOM

Orange blossoms bloom during early spring time and are very fragrant. Orange blossom is very sweet and very distinct from other honeys. There isn’t a guarantee we will make an orange blossom crop every spring, but when we do, we normally bring a barrel or two with us to Wisconsin and sell this in our honey shop.

GALLBERRY

Gallberry honey comes from a small evergreen holly bush that grows mostly in the swamp land of south Georgia and Florida. Most of the honey we produce in Florida is gallberry honey.

Confederate Jasmine

Much different than yellow jessamine, this white jasmine bloom is beautiful, fragrant, and provides a good food source for the bees. Here in Florida, it blooms in April and lasts a couple of weeks.

YELLOW JESSAMINE

Blooming from February to March, yellow jessamine is highly toxic to honeybees. It weakens the hive by poisoning brood and young bees.
